Overview
Element RC is Team Associated's crawler/trail brand, and the Enduro Sendero HD is the long-wheelbase trail specialist of the line. Where the SCX10 III targets rock crawling, the Sendero targets scale overlanding — longer wheelbase (332 mm), stock two-speed transmission that's genuinely useful on mixed terrain, and surprisingly competent stock tires that don't demand immediate replacement. Associated's build quality shows: the ball bearings are good, the shocks hold oil, and the plastic quality is a step above budget competitors. It flies under Axial and Traxxas' radar in sales, but many trail drivers prefer it once they try one.
The Verdict
What's good
- Excellent stock geometry for trail driving
- Two-speed transmission genuinely useful in the field
- Stock tires perform well — no urgent upgrade needed
- Team Associated build quality throughout
- Aluminum chassis rails (HD variant)
Watch out for
- Smaller aftermarket than Axial or Traxxas equivalents
- Less rock-racer focused than SCX10 III
- Long wheelbase struggles on tight rock scenarios
- Body selection is limited to Element's own lineup
Who it's for
Known Issues
Stock servo is adequate for stock tires but undersized for heavy aftermarket rubber (upgrade to 250 oz-in+). Shocks benefit from a fresh oil fill at the 6-month mark.
Common Mods
ProTek 250 oz-in servo, LED light kit for scale realism, aluminum skid plate upgrade, scale accessories (winch, jerry cans, spare tire carrier), brass axle weights.
