Overview
The DR10 is a purpose-built RC drag racer, not a converted short-course truck. Long wheelbase, low center of gravity, wheelie-bar-ready mounting points, and rear-weight bias designed specifically for straight-line launches on short no-prep strips. The spec racing class built around it has grown into one of the fastest-growing RC scenes in the US. On 3S with a 17.5T motor it pulls hard; swap to 4S with a proper brushless drag combo and it's genuinely terrifying. The kit-optional version (without electronics) lets you build to class rules from the ground up.
The Verdict
What's good
- Purpose-built for drag — no conversion needed
- Strong spec racing community (17.5T class)
- Simple build, minimal tuning required
- Affordable entry to the RC drag scene
- Available RTR or rolling chassis
Watch out for
- One-trick pony — strictly drag racing
- Stock slicks aren't competition-grade
- Needs prepped or smooth surface to shine
- Rear arms flex on aggressive 4S launches
Who it's for
Known Issues
Stock rubber is acceptable for practice but serious runs need drag-specific tires (Hoosier, Pro-Line VTR). Rear arms flex on 4S launches — carbon replacements are common. Wheelie bar not included in base kit.
Common Mods
Hoosier or Pro-Line VTR drag slicks, carbon fiber A-arms, Reedy wheelie bar kit, aluminum lower links, lithium steering servo, drag-specific ESC timing profile.
