Overview
The Mojave 6S is Arrma's take on the Trophy Truck / Baja 1000 class — long-travel desert racing, not rock crawling. Where the Kraton is a jumper, the Mojave is a runner: it was built to blast across open desert at real speed. On 6S LiPo it hits 70+ mph on hardpack with appropriate tires, and the long-travel suspension soaks up whoops and washboard at full throttle. The 1/7 scale sits between 1/8 buggies and the 1/5 Kraton — big enough to have presence, small enough to transport in a car trunk. This isn't a basher in the jump-and-flip sense; it's a flat-out speed machine for wide-open spaces. If you have access to a big field, parking lot, or desert, it's one of the most addictive RCs you can buy.
The Verdict
What's good
- Genuinely fast — 70+ mph territory
- Long-travel suspension soaks up rough open ground
- Great for wide-open terrain specifically
- Stock electronics hold up to 6S without drama
- Throttle limiter helps new pilots step up in speed
Watch out for
- Needs genuine open space to enjoy (400+ yard runs)
- Tire chunking on rocky or abrasive ground
- Not a jumper — don't buy expecting Kraton-style freestyle
- Expensive to run on 6S
- Limited fun in backyard-scale spaces
Who it's for
Known Issues
Stock tires chunk on rocky or abrasive ground — reserve for dirt, hardpack, or pavement. Differential fluid benefits from a heavier weight (15-30k wt) if you run 6S consistently. Rear wing mount can crack in heavy rolls.
Common Mods
Pro-Line Dumont desert tires for desert work, heavier diff fluid, aluminum rear hub carriers, GPS telemetry for verified top speed, wing mount reinforcement kit.
